GivingTuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. It provides concerned citizens like you the opportunity to support causes that mean something to them.

Often considered as the “Opening Day of the Giving Season,” this year’s GivingTuesday took place on December 1st. This powerful initiative has taken place in Canada for eight years, benefitting thousands of charities across the nation with tens of millions of dollars.

We are proud to be part of this transformational day of giving, and are both excited and overwhelmed to inform you that this year’s GivingTuesday raised an incredible $10,502.67 for the Foundation!!

From the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely thank our GivingTuesday donors. Your response has been humbling, and will go straight to our Emergency Response Fund, in support of critical COVID-19 research taking place at the BC Centre for Disease Control that will help protect the lives of British Columbians.

2020 has been a most difficult year for British Columbians, Canada, and the world. But one thing that has never been in question, is our collective resolve. This GivingTuesday, you demonstrated the power philanthropy can have right here where you live, while impacting thousands of lives in the process. We will continue to be steadfast in this fight, and any fight British Columbians face…and we will endure.

It is through people, pride, and passion that the BCCDC Foundation for Public Health exists. On behalf of our staff and Board of Directors, thank you again for helping make the world a safer and better place for all.
